Hillary Clinton's crime record
James Henry
Hillary Clinton's viciously dishonest attack on Bush regarding the recent power failure is another demonstration of her brutal contempt for the truth. Whichever way one looks at her record, no honest person cannot help but be appalled.
The woman who would be America's first female president would make Lady Macbeth blush with shame. This is the same women whose ruthless lunge for the Senate helped create a crime wave. This is a fact, not fantasy concocted by some Clinton-hater.
As part of her campaign she worked to undermine popular support for Giuliani. To do this successfully it was necessary for her and her media allies and other liberal supporters to smear his success in combating New York City's crime rate. This was done by launching a relentless campaign of vilification against the NYPD which they portrayed as a trigger-happy rogue force permeated with racist attitudes
The Clinton campaign had the desired effect. Giuliani and NYPD were successfully demonized and the prejudiced view of most blacks and Puerto Ricans that the police are agents of racist oppression were reinforced further. This resulted in a forced retreat by Giuliani and the demoralization of the police force. Interviews with 28 police officers by the Daily News gave a good indication of how far Clinton has succeeded in her war against the police. These officers contended that the department was forced to unofficially implement a double standard in dealing with minorities.
The department’s unofficial policy of going light on minority law-breakers gave us the Puerto Rican Day Parade riots in which scores of young blacks and Puerto Ricans threatened and sexually abused women while some police, fearful of accusations of racism and brutality from Clinton and her media brown shirts, turned away. Even more sickening was the race-baiting Al Sharpton accusing the police of not doing their duty. This is the same shyster who was in the forefront of Clinton's callous anti-police campaign.
And what of the hypocritical Hillary Clinton? With typical liberal idiocy she pompously declared: "We need to reauthorize this act, to provide the better training and resources and sensitivity to police, judges and public officials that will enable them to respond quickly and understand that this is not some kind of prank." Gangs of young savages run amok, terrorizing and sexually assaulting young women and all that the caring Hillary Clinton can do is call for sensitivity training for the police and judges!
What decent New Yorkers need and rightfully expect is law and order. And law and order is what Clinton and her liberal buddies spent more than 12 months undermining. She and her socially aware liberal friends had the Street Crimes Unit abolished with the result the murder rate in the Bronx and Queens leapt. Did she call for the unit's restoration or a more vigorous police presence? Of course not. She ignored the evil consequences of her actions and callously continued her attacks on the police.
As any half-wit, except a liberal one, can tell you, reducing the cost of anything increases its supply. Crime is no different. The cost of criminal behavior is the probability of detection and arrest. Reduce the probability and the crime rate will rise. The vile behavior of those New York savages was just another example of the truism that rewarding bad behavior only encourages more bad behavior. Do you think for one moment that those thugs would have gone on the rampage if they thought the police would have immediately moved against them?
By politicizing crime and maligning the forces of law and order liberals created even more crime. By raising the cost of crime and standing behind the NYPD Giuliani drastically slashed the city's crime rate, saving thousands of lives in the process. Unlike liberals, 'reactionaries' like Giuliani understand that in New York City the police represent a fragile barrier between the law-abiding and the lawless.
Breach that barrier, even psychologically, and you get the Puerto Rican Day Parade riots. This is only part of the dreadful price of tolerating Hillary Clinton’s political invasion of New York City. Her baseless attacks on Bush reveal that America's Lady Macbeth is beyond redemption.
