Journalist smears President Bush over Mary McCarthy’s treason

CIA agent Mary McCarthy betrays her country and what does the media do? It accuses President Bush of being a hypocrite. The reporting of the particularly slimy Geoff Elliot of The Australian neatly encapsulated the leftist media’s hypocrisy and contempt for national security (CIA fires analyst for leaks on jails, 24 April 2006). Their justification for this barefaced lying is the phoney Plame affair. What Elliot omitted — and the left will omit anything that contradicts its ideological template — is that we now know that Plame was not a covert agent. Moreover, Novak has publicly announced that Fitzgerald has known for years who revealed Plame’s identity. And that, Mr Elliot, is why this Democrat is trying to nail Libby on a perjury charge concerning a crime that was never committed.

So why hasn’t the oily Mr Elliott reported any of this? Is it because the leaker is a Democrat? While he is cooking up his alibi Elliott might also try to explain why Libby, who leaked nothing, should be mercilessly hounded by thuggish Dems and their media goon squads while the vile Mary McCarthy who did considerable damage to US intelligence is treated as a hero?

It’s a reporter’s job to report the facts and nothing but the facts. But ideologically motivated hacks like the disgraceful Elliot believe it is their job to twist, bend and torture the facts until their confession indicts some hapless conservative. And this is what Elliot has tried to do with McCarthy. In the parallel universe that lefties inhabit truth is whatever destroys conservatives and advances the progressive agenda.

While Hillary Clinton was playing co-president with her priapic husband she ordered one of her goons to pilfer 900 FBI files on her political opponents. This in itself is an impeachable offence. The response of the leftwing MainStream Media Party was to slime Republicans. According to their doctrine only Republicans should be impeached — meaning all of them.

The point is that the Australian media completely buried this scandal as just it is burying the scandalous behaviour of Fitzgerald who adamantly refuses to reveal the leaker’s name while doing everything within his power to deny Libby a fair trial. This makes a complete joke of Elliott’s claim that “For the past two years, independent Chicago prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has been investigating who leaked the name of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame”. (Cheney aide snared in spy tale, 28 October 20005). I would really like to think that the slippery Elliot was the exception. Unfortunately, this bag of human excrement is all too typical of what passes for journalism today.

A real journalist — something that Elliott will never be — would have bother to investigate McCarthy’s past. If he had done so he would have found that she had the support of the Center for International Policy. Further digging would have revealed that the CIP had been set up by the Institute for Policy Studies, a Washington-based Marxist-Leninist phoney think tank that openly collaborated with the KGB during the Cold War and which now supports the PLO, North Korea, Castro, Hugo Chavez and any other communist dictators it can find.

In addition, this patriotic member of the Democratic Party has the unstinting support of the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity which mainly consists of former CIA analysts along with a allegedly operational agents. It too is a spinoff from the IPS and, as one would expect, viciously anti-American as well as anti-Semitic. David MacMichael is a member of VIPS and is a former CIA analyst. As a deeply patriotic American he saw it as his duty to lecture at the IPS and, along with KGB officers, participate in its activities. Among others who share MacMichaels enthusiasm for an organisation that acted as a Soviet front. Now what is a patriotic America like Mary McCarthy doing with a nest of traitors? Who knows? Perhaps even the fellow travelling Mr Elliot will endeavour to find out. And maybe pigs will fly.

The leftwing media is doing its best cover up McCarthy’s leftwing connections by painting her as an American patriot who is speaking out against a warmongering illegitimate government that is lying to the American people. Before long they will even want to erect a statue to this lying traitor.

This is the same paragon of virtue that supported the wag-the-dog policy that saw Clinton bomb the Sudanese al-Shifa pharmaceutical. This is the same phoney patriot who never uttered a work of protest when Clinton implemented the rendition policy — a policy that she is now trying to blame on Bush. This woman never once condemned a single Clinton scandal, even when it involved bribes from the PLA and the selling of classified technology to Beijing. But what else is a loyal Clintonista supposed to do?

Because of her treason clandestine officers have made it clear that her revelations have caused enormous damage to US intelligence agencies, even to the extent of endangering the lives of agents. But why should that worry her. Her pals at the US-hating IPS did exactly the same thing.

Intent on exposing President Bush’s perfidy, Elliott informed his readers that Wilson’s 2003 column in the New York Times claimed that President Bush lied when he said that Saddam tried to obtain uranium in Niger. What Elliott didn’t say is that the British Intelligence Service, MI6, still stands by its story as does the French DGSE. (Cheney aide snared in spy tale, 28 October 2005). But these facts did not stop the odious Elliott engaging in a little conspiracy-mongering of his own by insinuating that Fitzgerald was going to expose a White House conspiracy designed to “discredit critics of the Iraq war”. And Murdoch’s editors have got the bloody nerve to call this journalism.

In Reporter under fire over CIA, 24 October 2005, the ever so manly Elliott attacked Judith Miller of the New York Slimes. Her crime was writing stories based on intelligence sources that supported the Bush administration’s claim that Saddam had WMDs. Naturally, Elliott neglected to mention that the Democrats also supported Bush’s claim, as did every other country. But facts are the last thing the sleazy Mr Elliott going to allow to get in his way.

Trying to push the phoney Plame scandal for it was worth, which wasn’t much, Elliott reported that “Rumours have run thick and fast this week that Mr Lewis or Mr Rove, or both, could be indicted for an alleged role in outing as a spy Valerie Plame”. And Elliott calls rumours, which for all we know he invented, serious journalism, despite the fact that it was known at the time that Plame was not a covert agent. (Rove in more spy strife, 21 October 2005).

Being a leftist means having to control oneself. He had to call Rove “Bush’s Brain” (how original) and insinuate that the lying Joseph Wilson, Plame’s husband, was being persecuted. It takes a remarkable liar to make an insinuation like that when he knew that Wilson had already been exposed as a pathological liar.

In the same article he took a swipe at the hated Tom Delay, stating that “The former majority leader of the House of Representatives was ordered to appear before a Texas county court relating to a charge of campaign finance fraud in that state”. Well, there you have it — Delay is nothing but another lousy Republican crook, except that the only crooks here were Elliott and the indescribably corrupt Ronnie Earl who was prosecuting.

So what did the heroic Elliott leave out? Everything that mattered. For instance, he neglected to report that in 1993 Earle tried to indict Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison on trumped-up charges. The judge threw the charges out of court. Earle’s behaviour was no surprise given his history of bringing politically motivated indictments against Republicans. Delay’s guilt was so self-evident that Earle had to empanel six grand juries to get a conviction. But this was not the end of the farce. The foreman of the last jury admitted after the hearing that he intended to find Delay guilty no matter what. And why? Because Delay is a Republican. Since then the court has thrown out Earle’s conspiracy charge against Delay.

And yet for some strange reason all of this managed to escape Mr Elliott’s attention. This is the same reporter who gleefully wrote that Tom Delay “was being fingerprinted and his mug shot taken before his first court appearance”. Now that Earle has egg on his face Elliott has nothing more to say. I guess that’s because he’s been busy at the New York Slimes and the Washington Post digging up more anti-Bush talking points that he thinks he can pass off as news.

I must now call a halt to this article because my stomach just cannot take any more. Wading through Elliott’s putrefying lies is like diving into a cesspit with one’s mouth wide open. Perhaps now more readers will come to understand why I hold our putrescent media in such contempt.
