The 5 Travel Beauty Tips You Need to Know

Travelling can take its toll on your skin & hair, but with the right products, it doesn’t have to. Check out these top travel beauty tips from the experts!

Travelling the world can take its toll on your skin and your look, but it doesn’t mean that your beauty and self-care routines must go out of the window. Instead, all you need to do is pick the right products that can multitask as much as you can!

Here are all the travel beauty tips you need, right from the mouths of international beauty experts.

#1: Choose Water-Free Products

Those who travel frequently will already know that sometimes, water for face washing and the likes can be hard to come by. Instead of stressing about finding a private bathroom for your daily beauty routine, simplify your life by choosing products that don’t require any water to be properly used.

Micellar water can be used as a make-up remover and cleansing toner in one, and can be applied with a cotton pad, no rinsing required.

Likewise, if you want to keep your hair fresh in between washes when showers are few and far between, pack a can of dry shampoo in your luggage as well! Whether you’ll be out on the town or simply want to stay fresh while enjoying sports betting in Chile (Or apuestas deportivas Chile as it’s known locally) or wherever in the world you are, from your hotel room, there’s nothing better than having clean hair.

#2: Remember to Moisturize

Skipping out on moisturizer (and sunscreen) is understandable when you have a jam-packed itinerary to adhere to, but if you do it often enough, it can wreak havoc on the state of your skin.

To remedy this and remain a fair maiden, or man, remember to always have a good-quality moisturizer – or even a tinted BB cream – with an SPF of 30 or higher on hand.

A cream with added sun protection will ensure that you don’t have to lug too many bottles and tubes around, but at the same time, you can still keep your skin hydrated and protected, no matter where in the world you may be.

#3: Try Out Some Oils

If you suffer from dry skin issues, oils will be your saviours during long trips. Light natural oils like jojoba, rosehip and argan pack in plenty of moisturizing properties while still being easily absorbed and leaving no greasy residues.

These oils can also be used as hair serums, eye creams and even lip balms in emergencies, making them great for every woman traveller to have on hand.

#4: BYO Shampoos and Conditioners

You might be temped to just use the complimentary shampoos and conditioners offered by your hotel, especially as they can save a lot on packing space.

However, many of these free products are of a very basic quality and can dry out your hair in the long run.

If you need to save on luggage room, rather decant just enough of your favourite hair products into smaller containers for your journey to ensure that you don’t end up with a dried-out, frizzy mess!

#5: Masks are a Must-Have

Even if you do everything right, airports, changes in climate, and harsh airplane air-conditioning can all take their toll on your skin. To keep it supple and prevent irritation, pack a moisturizing facemask and use it regularly.

There are plenty of no-rinse versions out there as well, which will save you even more trouble while keeping you looking your best on your worldly travels.
