I was stuck in a soul-draining office job in accounting for 7 years. It wasn’t all bad, but after a few years I felt like something was missing from my life. I used to daydream about traveling the world and going on adventures. I read all kinds of travel blogs, watched Departures and Anthony Bourdain on the regular.
About a year ago, I finally decided that enough was enough. I was sick of sitting back watching, reading and dreaming about living an adventurous life. So I started to save every penny I had for an ultimate trip. I stopped going out for dinners, budgeted my monthly spending and started to sell off everything in my apartment. It wasn’t easy, but I was determined to make my dreams a reality.
After 6 months of strict saving, I was able to quit my job and start living my life. Travel isn’t for everyone, but I knew it was for me and it has now changed my life. I call myself a solo-female traveller, but the reality is that I meet new people wherever I go. Majority of the time I’m traveling with new friends I’ve made in hostels or other traveller-like hubs.
I hope you enjoy reading about my adventures and if you have the travel-dream too, know that if I can do it, so can you!
