Make Tasty Pet Treats with CBD Oil for Cats

Given that CBD has been present in human use for some time, the question is whether it is safe for pets. The answer is yes, which will delight many cat owners. As experts from the pet hemp company for dogs and cats say, it’s only necessary to follow some guidelines regarding dosing and administration.

CBD oil for cats is the best way to give your pet the required dose of cannabidiol. In case your furry buddy is upset, a few drops of this oil will save the day. But there is one tiny problem. Some kittens will complain when you put a dropper in their mouth, while others may not be thrilled with the grassy taste of CBD oil.

If you are creative and skilled in food preparation, you will easily overcome this problem. You can make homemade cat treats, in which you will sneak in the recommended dose of CBD oil. Your pet will eat healthy and nutrient-rich treats further enriched with cannabidiol.

Pumpkin and Tuna Biscuits

These fishy treats will be a real delicacy for your cat. Pumpkin, which has a fairly neutral taste, is beneficial to your pet’s digestive system because of the abundance of fiber it contains. Tuna is a perfect source of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.

In a bowl, mix a can of tuna (do not drain the oil out of it) with two cups of mashed pumpkin (pre-cooked). Make sure that everything is finely chopped so that the cat would not choke with larger pieces. Add one egg, half a cup of coconut flour, a quarter of a cup of gelatin powder, and two tablespoons of CBD oil for cats.

Shape the mixture into small bite-sized balls, flatten them, and arrange on a pan lined with wax paper. Bake in the preheated oven to harden. All the ingredients except the eggs have already been processed, so there is no need for long baking.

Salmon CBD Treat

Like any fish, salmon is rich in healthy fatty acids and proteins. Your cat needs these nutrients for shiny fur, sharp teeth, and a healthy heart. Always cook fish before giving it to the pet. Any raw meat can be an excellent breeding ground for parasites.

Make a dough of 6 ounces of cooked skinless salmon, one egg and one egg yolk, and half a cup of wheat flour. Add one tablespoon of pet CBD oil and as much milk as needed to get sticky dough (about a quarter of a cup).

Roll out the dough and use a cookie cutter (if you don’t have it, use a bottle cap). Arrange the treats in a sprayed pan and bake for 15 minutes at 320 Fahrenheit. All cat treats need to be well cooled before giving them to your furry buddy. It is advisable to leave them overnight. The biscuits will soften, and the aromas will be finely blended.

Sticky Rice CBD Bites

Although cats love meat, rice treats are a perfectly good substitute for fish or chicken. Rice abounds in protein and fiber. It is easy to digest and excellent to combine with other foods. Due to the mild taste, rice treats need extra aromatic ingredients to mask the taste of CBD oil.

Mix a cup of cooked brown rice, one egg, two tablespoons of cat CBD oil, a cup of rice flour, and one teaspoon of chopped parsley. Add two tablespoons of wet cat food or a spoonful of catnip (here find out more about this herb). These aromas will entirely hide the taste of cannabidiol oil. If necessary, add warm water to the dough to make it easier to roll out.

You don’t have to cut this dough before baking. Spread it directly in a pan lined with parchment paper and bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 325F. When cool, cut it into bite-size pieces and store in an airtight container.

People are under daily stress. Often, due to too many commitments, they forget that their cats can also have mental ups and downs. Giving them a small dose of cannabidiol once in a while will relax them. In case of any health issue your fur ball suffers, CBD oil treats are also beneficial for pain relief.
