05 Meaningful Gifts You Can Buy For Your Girlfriend
Here’s a newsflash for the average man: You can buy your girlfriend jewelry without it being a sign that you’d like to get married. There are plenty of ideas out there for nice jewelry that need not cost of fortune but will work well for a special occasion which isn’t a proposal.
There is one exception to the above. Imagine you’re out with your beloved and you two just happen to be in Hatton Garden, and you go into a jewelry shop. Then you somehow just happen to buy an engagement rings London. Imagine that; silly right? But one word of warning, if you were to do that, it wouldn’t be too far a stretch of the imagination for her to think this was a proposal.
Jewelry means something
Yes, it does. It means you’ve taken time and put some thought into a gift. The first thing to do is pay attention to what she wears and how she wears it. Believe me, there’s nothing worse than giving a girl earrings when she doesn’t have pierced ears.
What type of jewelry does she normally have on? Is she a gold or silver sort of woman? Does she have a family piece which she wears all the time? If she does, best not to give her something that would replace it until it is the right time to do that.
It is going to be casual jewelry?
What you’re looking for here, is casual stuff. You might go for her birthstone rather than one of the big stones, just to make sure she doesn’t get the wrong message.
If you decide to buy earrings, look for ones that make a statement like long drop ones. Or stay on the safe side with a birthstone stud.
Rings are actually easy
The exchanging of rings is clearly significant, but there are so many rings which are obviously not wedding or engagement rings you would be ok getting them. You might be saying you care, and you do, don’t you? If you’re not sure, stay away from the ring trays.
Necklaces
A really safe choice is buying a nice chain with a charm or some sort or a lariat, maybe even an initial. If you’re getting serious, you could intertwine both of your initials. Hey, Henry VIII was into that with 6 wives, you can do it too.
Bracelets
You’re on safe ground here too. Keep an eye on what she wears now. If she doesn’t wear one at all, then go for something which is unobtrusive. A bracelet which is more like a cuff takes a lot of time to get used to. She might not be wearing it because it gets in the way, not because she hates it.
A word to the wise
Avoid heart-shaped things – even for Valentine’s Day. Let’s just whisper this with due apologies to all, heart-shaped things are cheesy and for teenagers. Your girlfriend is a woman of the world. Treat her like one.
