The historical land of Greece is famous for a lot of reasons, such as the food, Athens, and the lovely people who live there. There are many places worth visiting in Greece, due the fact that it is located beautifully at the crossroads of Asia, Europe and Africa.

Greece is home to some of the most beautiful and breathtaking beaches in the whole world. There are plenty of different beaches to choose from, including some child-friendly beaches too. Due to the fact that there are so many beaches in Greece, it might be difficult for some to distinguish which ones are the best. Read on to find out!

Plaka Beach, Naxos

If you are a lover of islands and beaches, then Naxos should be on the top of your list of places to visit, if you haven’t already. Naxos is filled with gorgeous beaches with water so blue it can easily take your breath away. Plaka beach is one of the best beaches in the whole world, and in Greece, of course. There’s also a nudist side to the Plaka beach, while the other side is child-friendly.

Mytros Beach, Kefalonia

The Myrtos beach is so gorgeous to look at that it looks like something straight out of a postcard. The beach has a reputation for being one of the most dramatic beaches in Greece with the arc filled with white pebbles. The site has been used for some scenes in movies too. The water is blue, the island that it’s located on is clean, and the people are amazing. Add some delicious Greek food to the mixture, and you wouldn’t want to leave this place for the whole duration of your stay!

Koukounaries Beach, Skiathos

Once referred to as the Maratha Beach, the Koukounaries Beach of Skiathos is one of the most visited tourist sites due to its gorgeous blue ocean. The beach is absolutely beautiful to look at and is ranked among the best beaches of the world. It has a long coastline and is almost always full of people enjoying themselves and sunbathing, especially during summer.

Sarakiniko Beach, Milos

Sarakiniko beach is located on the north shore, and the shore is layered with grayish-white volcanic rocks that look like snow. The north winds are strong in this area and often times, shape the rocks into amazing shapes making the area look like a moonscape. It is one of the most famous beaches since it looks quite different in comparison to other beaches. The Sarakiniko beach is almost always filled with tourists who have made it one of the most photographed landscapes. The beach has a lot of coves that make it even more interesting, and you are likely to find people swimming between these coves. Sunbathing, enjoying drinks, sports – there’s nothing that you cannot do at the Sarakiniko beach.
