03 Tips For A Safe, Quick Shave While Traveling
When you’re traveling, many modern luxuries can’t really be bothered with like zodiac slot game. For many, one of these things is shaving. However, if you do need to shave but can’t give your facial or body hair the time and attention that you normally would, it’s good to know what you can do to ensure that you don’t tear your skin apart trying to get a clean shave.
To help you learn how you can do this, here are three tips for a safe, quick shave while traveling.
Don’t Get The Water Too Hot
One common thing that people do when they shave is to get in the shower or shave right after showering. This allows for the skin and hair to soften up in the hot water and makes for a closer shave. But if time is limited, you may not be able to take a full shower or wait for hot water to come. Luckily, this isn’t a necessity for getting a good shave. In fact, using hot water may not be the best way to get a quick, safe shave.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, using hot water to shave can make your skin become too soft and can make it easier for your skin to get cut when you shave. Knowing this, if you’re wanting to shave quickly while you’re on the road, try to use warm water rather than hot water.
Use A Lubricant
Arguably the worst thing you can do for your skin is to shave it dry. With this in mind, you should always use some kind of lubricant on your skin before you shave.
Generally, people will use a shaving cream or gel on their skin before shaving. However, there are plenty of other products that you can use to get a close, safe shave as well. According to Kovacs David, a contributor to LifeHack.org, anything from coconut oil, olive oil, hair conditioner, lotion, aloe vera gel, and others can be used as a lubricant for shaving. So before you choose to shave with just a razor and water, try to find something that can act to lubricate the skin.
Consider An Electric Razor
Sometimes, traveling with a razor can be dangerous and inconvenient. Along with this, having to find the place and ability to shave with water and some kind of lubricant can be challenging. Luckily, there is a way around this situation.
Regardless of where you’re shaving, Dr. Renee A. Alli, a contributor to WebMD.com, shares that you can use an electric razor. While you’ll have to either find a place to plug this in and charge the battery or bring along an extra battery with you, you won’t have to worry as much about hurting yourself or getting unsightly razor burn when you use this device.
If you’re wanting to shave while you’re traveling but have found traditional shaving to be a non-starter, consider using the tips mentioned above to stay clean shaven while on the road without worrying about injuries or infections.
